About Me

My name is Greg Conely, and I have started this website to help spread my ideas and what "True Conservatism" means. Many people think of "Conservative" as what the previous president Bush was. That is about as true as calling President Obama a conservative. There is a BIG difference between what the root word "Conservative" means and what people think it is. Lets start with some simple definitions.

Definitions of "conserve" on the Web:

  • keep constant through physical or chemical reactions or evolutionary change; "Energy is conserved in this process"
  • keep in safety and protect from harm, decay, loss, or destruction

Now, many people use "Conservatism" or "Conservatives" as a bad word. They forget that the definition of "Conservatism" is as follows:

Definitions of "conservatism" on the Web:

  • a political or theological orientation advocating the preservation of the best in society and opposing radical changes
  • A political philosophy that favors maintaining limited government involvement with respect to religious, cultural, or nationally defined beliefs and customs; A political philosophy that moral objectivism exists, and should be adhered to
  • A political ideology that embraces individual opportunity, public order, and traditional values

Now, what was the last person in a political office that stood for any of these? I tell people that I am a "conservative" and they ask me why the last "conservative" presidents messed up so bad and why I supported them. THEY WHERE NOT CONSERVATIVE AND I DIDN'T SUPPORT THEM!!! Is that really that hard to get thru peoples thick skulls? Or are they just scared of what TRUE conservatism represents?

I saw a poll from ABC\WP that said that 2/3 of all Americans dislike their government. I wonder why? I saw another poll that said some 40% to 60% of Americans consider themselves "conservative". This includes many many people that are Independants. This is not just "Republicans". There is a huge difference between what a "Republican" is, and what a true "Conservative" is. Personally, I don't think I can really name anyone in an elected office that is a True Conservative. I feel that is what our problem is.

Many people feel that the "Conservatives" are not represented, or at least not represented properly. What do we have? Republicans calling themselves conservatives. Heck, I should just be a dictator and call myself a conservative. They are one in the same there.

I have outlined what I feel is Conservatism on this site, and I hope that some of these things get shared with people. Please feel free to share this site, information and ideas with others. All we can do is try to educate.
