My Stance Research
|
My name is Greg Conely, and I am running for US Senate for the State of Nevada. I have been debating on this for a few months now, but as time goes on, I don't really see much light at the end of the tunnel. I have heard of other people who also express interest in running, and heard of a few people that have said they are running. I have one real issue with what I have found so far. None of them really give you much information on their webstie about them, their plans, or what EXACTLY they will work and fight for. This is what I am most tired of with politicians. All they say is "I have a plan". Well, what is your plan? Just like before someone invests money or time in a startup company, where is your business plan? Where are the 5 month and 5 year plans? This morning, while sitting here listening to a Dan Carlin podcast and working on a little program, I figured I would update this page a little. If you don't know who I am talking about, please visit http://www.dancarlin.com and check out his site. I highly like his Common Sense podcast, and I hope that everyone listens to at least 2 of them. I have yet to listen to his Hardcore History podcast, but I will probably download a couple later today. So, why do I want to run for office? Well, honestly, I don't. I don't want every little aspect of my life in the limelight. I don't want everyone to know all my dirty little secrets, or the bad things I have done. And I really don't want the stress that comes with working with a hundred other buffoons. But, as many of you are, I am tired of the continued expansion of BS that we see in our government. I am tired that every little aspect of our lives has some type of Federal requirement, regulation or tax involved. I am tired of listening to how everyone seems to want to expand what services, taxes, regulations, etc... that the Federal Government has when they can barely handle what they have now. And now, they are discussing a sur-tax to fund the wars that we are in? Um, isn't that one of the main reasons we pay federal taxes in the first place? And, just like any other investment, where is you business plan? Where is the exit strategy? Are they trying to tell us that they just want to tax us more and this tax may last for another ten years, or maybe forever? I am tired of this! All this because "I have a plan." Well, WHERE IS IT? Our federal government is running on a multi trillion dollar credit card, yet there is no discussion about this. Sure you hear little talking points every now and than, but where are the debates? What happens when you finance your life on a credit card? Eventually you go backrupt. So, what happens when our government goes bankrupt? But, instead of this, our news is busy feeding us 24/7 coverage of stupid non-issues. Sorry, but who really cares if Tiger Woods hit a light pole in a private complex? Where is the 24/7 coverage of the 4 police officers being shot to death? Where is the 24/7 coverage of our war efforts? Where is the 24/7 coverage of why our government spent some 18 million dollars to redesign or even create a website. I wonder how much Walmart or Dell paid for their websites? If only half of you would put as much interest in our politicians as you put in our stars and celebrities, we would be so better off. I just hope that people are really ready to get our country back on the right track. We don't need to be discussing how our Federal Government can control, regulate or tax our lives more. We need to be discussing how to get our government back to financial stability. We need to be discussing how we give our states their rights back, because that is where they belong. We need to discuss exactly how we are going to finish and get out of the different wars we are in. Now, the fear that I have, is that people just don't really care, or they don't see how bad it is and becoming. Well, if you don't care, than should you really be voting in the first place? For the people who don't see the problems, I really don't know what to say. Maybe they just don't know, or maybe they just don't understand. I guess this I would have to handle on a case by case thing. Thanks, Greg Conely |
