About Me

Why Socialism?

I want to start this page off by stating that I am not against all "socialist" ideas. But there is a fine line between what is right and what is wrong. Anyone who does not belive there are lines in life that you just can't change, needs to get real.

When you bring up "socialist", many people argue "what about police, fire, roads, water?" Well, what about them? My issue with "socialism" is that it should not be in the Federal Government. All of these things that you stated are not Federal Agencies. There has been some things that have crept up in the Federal System, such as education and transportation, and I feel these should be removed from the Federal Government. The States are responsible for this.

Now, many people argue that the States are too small to accomplish this. If you feel bad about one state not having the money for roads or schools, then start a State Welfare item about it, or create a organization, and raise money for that state.

The American People, and the "private donations" that they provide register as percentages of GDP - or whatever it is, it escapes me at this time what the figure is called - for other countries. Can you name one other country that registers as a part of this figure for us? The American people consume something like 30% of all created goods on this planet. Don't for a minute think that the American People can't afford something. It is all about what the American People think they should put money into!

Federal socialism takes away this choice for the American citizens. Also, through out history, "socialist" society has not seemed to accomplish much. I look at the things in life that people often take for grated. Things such as Cars, Planes, Phones and the Internet. Where did all of these things come from?

Here are some clips of stuff I found while researching the term "socialism"

It is not by chance that the world's greatest famines have happened within the Soviet Union (about 5 million dead from 1921-23 and 7 million from 1932-3, including 2 million outside Ukraine) and communist China (about 30 million dead from 1959-61). Overall, in the last century almost 55 million people died in various Marxist famines and associated epidemics – a little over 10 million of them were intentionally starved to death, and the rest died as an unintended result of Marxist collectivization and agricultural policies.

And that around 35 million people escaped Marxist countries as refugees was an unequaled vote against Marxist utopian pretensions. Its equivalent would be everyone fleeing California, emptying it of all human beings.

There's no government institution in this country that would stop even the most anti-capitalist Communist\Socialist\Hippy\Whatever from becoming incredibly wealthy. It happens in the music and entertainment industry all the time. Every person born in the United States has a chance to become a millionaire. Just ask Obama, Snoop Dog, Eminem and many others that came from the "poor".

Now, I do believe in some forms of socialism. I support fire departments, police, and love to drive on our roads. So, socialistic ideas and programs do have some benifits. Many people can say that these items should be volunteer based, or simply paid for by the local governments. I, for the most part, agree with this philosopy, however there are some places that simply don't have the means to do some things.

The problem with them is their accountability and the fairness of them. Another issue with them that I see, is that we have these "social programs" created to benefit all of us, but do they really? Why do I need to pay for medical insurance for everyone, when I don't even pay for fresh water or power for these people? Which is really a need?

Why did I pay about $24,000 for a car ("Cash for Clunkers" program?) and then they just simply destroyed the cars? Wouldn't it be better if we took these cars, and gave them to the poor, with no strings attached?

What I propose as standards for these things, and any other "socialistic" ideas that may arise are:

  1. Whenever any money is created by our government, it should be equally split to all Citizens and each person shall recieve a check or EFT (electronic funds transfer) for their amount.
  2. There will be no grants or loans ever given or created by the federal government.
  3. The federal government will allocate funds for "social programs". Of which, these funds will be put into an account that people can request items from. Any citizen can create a request, for themselves, or for someone else, or simply for the general public. These item ideas will go to a general vote, and if passed, will:
    • Be purchased or paid for from the fund.
    • Once purchased or completed, will be given to a local private company to manage it. No strings attached. No taxes or payments required.
    • No person or company (unless no other company is available) shall recieve more than one item from this fund.
    • If the company goes bankrupt or is otherwise unable to manage the item, the item created by this "social fund" will be re-distrubuted to another competing local company in the same location.

  4. Now, if there are no "requests", then there should be some automatic things created. For example:
    • Every month, maybe have 1,000 computers purchased, and given to random schools.
    • Every 6 months, a new power plant can be built, for a random state.

Now, what kind of things would I like to see being bought and paid for from this fund? Here are some ideas:

  1. Create a water treatment center, and give it to the County government where it was built.
  2. Build a school, give it to the city.
  3. Buy 1,000 computers for schools, give them to a city.
  4. Create a solar\geothermal\tidal power plant, and give it to the State government, where it was built, to manage or distribute.
  5. Create a housing project, business complex or stip mall, and give it to the City Government where it was created.

These things, once given to the local government, should no longer, by any means, be controlled by the Federal Government. At no time, should the Federal Government withold any funds, or social donations based upon any rules, laws or mandates that the other government office does or does not adhere to.
