My Plan

The United States is currently facing some of the most dramatic and drastic issues it has faced in a long time. Or, at least we are to believe we do.  As we face these issues, we are also facing a government system that is either not able, or not willing to work with its populace.  There is something really wrong with this.  As the Declaration of Independence states “We the People”.  Currently, our government does not believe in We the People.  Now it is all about politics, and the meaningless fights between the different political parties.

Now, there are many ideas floating out there on things that we can do.  Many are great ideas, and many are way off base.  Here is what I envision as the changes that our government must do now.  Many of you say “I can’t change the government”, but WE can.  Again, We the People.

Please take the time to read this, and send me any comments or questions if you have any.  I have included an overview of my plan here on the first few pages.  I have included any technical or more detailed notes or ideas on different pages for people to review.  Now this currently is just a plan, and as any great plan, is open for debates, disputes, and new ideas.  Again, if you have any, please contact me.  My contact information is on the contact page.

The Building Block

What I envision is a software system that allows the American Citizens’ to better interact and track its government.  This software application allows, and forces:

  1. All government expenses to be entered, and accounted for. Easily. This system will allow things marked as “top-secret” or “national defense” to be marked, and the details would be hidden from general view.
  2. All bills, laws or changes to laws to be created, entered and tracked.  This includes:
    • Who created it.
    • Who supports it,
    • Who has read it,
    • Who has voted on it, and what they voted, and any comments they have about it,
    • Have accessible supportive and opposing information, easily accessible. This information must follow the same rules as the laws (defined below), and must show who entered it, and who supports the information.
      • Allow any American Citizen to easily query, review and track expenses.

    • This can include creating custom reports, tickers, and even e-mail notification of changes or entries.

You may ask how we secure and get access to this system.  First, the system must be available over the internet. Second, there should be Kiosks set aside in ALL government buildings that allow people access to this information. These kiosks and the internet access MUST be available ALWAYS, for FREE, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to all citizens of the United States.

Each person will need to create a PIN number for this system. This will be similar to how we currently do our PIN numbers for our banks. When we register to vote will have to do so in person, at a government building, using a governmental recognized picture ID, and using the Social Security Number (which is always unique).

Each person’s votes will be tracked, and they will only be able to vote on each item once.  They are free to change their vote, including removing any vote, up till the deadline for voting on the item.

All voting information can be tracked back to a perticular person, but not to an individual. Each person will have a seperate ID number randomly created by the program, that anyone can use to access voting records for any person. You cannot access a persons name, address, or any other "personal" information using this number. This secondary ID number is the only one that the government can use. It cannot, and must not, have any rights, privlidges, or need to access the persons individual information on this.

Change how we make and pass laws

Currently if you see a law or bill that is less than 100 pages in length, it is a rarity.  All bills and laws MUST:

  1. Fit on less than 5 pages of computer typed, 12 point Arial font or larger. (Just about any font is fine, but this makes sure that they don’t fit 100 lines of text on 1 page)
  2. Cover only 1 change.  No adding sub items or any of that on it.
  3. Be accessible over the government portal software to all US citizens for at least 30 days.
  4. Allow all US citizens to vote on any item entered.  The vote of the US citizens overrides any and all of our politicians’ votes.
  5. Allow all US citizens to comment on any laws created.
  6. All laws must be easily read and understood by the average 7th grade student.
  7. All US students, over the 7th grade, must, as homework or school work, review and write at least one 1 page report per week about 1 of the laws.  This report will then be submitted to the system (minus the students name), and be reviewable by anyone.

Flat Tax System

I was looking at a flat 4.5% federal sales tax. With no other taxes. I have been trying to work up some figures on this. Here is a link to the workbook I have been thinking of. I would like to note that most of the amounts are based on last budget figures. I would like to see these numbers decreased by a good amount, but I just wanted to use these figures to show that a flat taxed system can work. Federal Spending Worksheet

Now, I have thought about different Tariffs, but I am not sure if we want this door open.  What I have thought about is a 10% sales tax on all raw materials (not products) leaving the US and 10% sales tax on all "products" (excluding raw materials) comming into the US. This is not on-top of, but instead replaces, the standard 4.5% sales tax.

Now, I am not a large supporter of Tariffs, but this is the best current solution I currently have on how to help keep production and other blue collar jobs in the United States.

Equality to the People

One thing that we have to remember here, and our government should force is: Equality.  We are all equal.  As long as we make inclusions or exclusions in stuff, we are no longer in a Fair system.  Our government MUST:  Not include or exclude any group of people based upon ANYTHING.  The only exception to this is the inclusion or exclusion of people who have broken the law.  Then, once they are done serving their punishment, then they are again EQUAL.  Period.  Our government should not ask what race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, etc…  Our government does not need to know this.

Illegal Immigration

I support immigration and Integration. I do not support illegal immigration.  Here is a little breakdown I found on how much money we spend on Illegal Aliens.

That’s a total of like $ 135.7 to $ 146.7 billion.

Now, anyone who says that you must have some form of paperwork to get these benefits, here’s a link for you:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=how+to+get+a+fake+id&aq=f&oq=&aqi=

This is a Google search, which returned to me 17 million results.  Are we serious?  And these “novelty fake ids”?  Come on people.  This is just the stuff open on the internet.  What about the real people making fake id’s that don’t advertise on the internet?  Why not go ask a 17 year old if they can get a fake id.  It is not that hard.  And now there is this whole “id theft”  where some 1/3 of all people get their identity stolen.  Just more signs that fake Id’s are not that hard to get.
