What other countries are looked up to by just about every other country in the world? You may think that the other countries "hate us" or some redrick like this, but lets get real here. How many "anti-American" rallies do you really see? And of these, what are they from? They are from us, the Americans, telling them what the hell to do. Not only do these "statists" - Mark, I really enjoyed your book - want to tell the rest of us Americans what to do, but they want to tell the rest of the world what to do.
We provide billions, sometimes trillions, of dollars to other countries. We rebuild cities and bring running water to dry land. We provide a great model for other countries to follow. We just need to be this model.
As far as telling other countries what to do, what role is that? They are free people to do as they want. Just because we disagree with them, gives us no right to dictate what they should do.
Now, that is not to say that we should never intervene. If there is a nation that is a direct threat to other nations, and we are being asked to assist with the situation, then by all means we should, as long as this is just not matters of opinion.
As far as intervention, it should be swift, accurate and absolute.
